Down in the dumps and off my game,
One thing for sure, nothing stays the same.
One minute my nose sniffin’ corn on the cob,
The next I slip in the mud and wanting to sob.
Anyway, what should anyone expect, a free ride;
I feel happy at day’s end to still have my hide.
Oh sure, I know we all have our ups and downs.
What should I do, join a pack of blood hounds?
There’s time enough yet to sort out my affairs;
Aging’s been kind but I got an ear full of hairs.
Why shucks, I’ve still got my life before me,
With a career, such that it is, to restore me.
There will be time enough to settle my account,
To count my pennies and add up the amount.
Who said that we are our own worst enemy?
I, for one, have come to rely on a single remedy.
The day will come when it’s all going to happen;
I never lose hope and take each day as just startin’.
As I walk home in the dark, I often wax lyrical.
You never feel too bad when waiting for a miracle.
EINSTEINS SAID, EITHER ONE BELIEVES THAT EVERYTHING IS A MIRACLE...OR... THAT NOTHING IS A MIRACLE. THUS, FOR ME...MIRACLES...HAPPEN EVERY DAY! DONE WELL, JOHN, THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
An upbeat approach to life's ups and downs. I really like the lyrical quality and storyline of this one. Could certainly be a song and probably a very good country and western one.
Reminds me of an Albert Einstein quote: "Don't wait for miracles. Your whole life is a miracle." I've learned that miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do your fears. Relate. Peace... r
Hah! Not laughing at your hard times, John, but at your way with words, suck as "I got an ear full of hairs." From what little I know of you, I feel you are the kind of man who really doesn't wait for miracles, but goes head first into battle to keep things copasetic.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
