The Question of Destiny

The question of destiny we hold to fast,
The answer of destiny eludes our grasp.
We try to explore the freedoms of will,
Only to realize that we are a slave still.
A slave to ourselves, our whims, desires,
Wind stirs our emotions, stokes the fires.
We wish to be suns to our moody moons,
Trying to create light in our inner rooms.
We are only moons with borrowed light,
Gleaned stealthily from the sun’s might.
Moons full of multiple scars and craters,
The onslaught of incoming space debris.
In trying to uphold the myth of destiny,
We give up the luxury of life’s mystery.
We suffer doubts that we of Satan stole,
Especially when we think we lost control.
Life is wrapped in the unfolding of destiny,
Ignoring truth only incurs harsh penalty.
Written on a sacred scroll year by year,
Destiny unfolds within the earthly sphere.
