Is silence of the world only the absence of sound,
The free-floating hot-air balloon finally run aground.
Silence is the garden of meditation, the sheikh said,
A gathering prayer in summer inside the garden shed.
Our prayer seeking revelation of early morning dreams;
That accompany dawn light as it descends in streams.
We kneel quietly within our hearts, our thoughts inward,
Holy aspirations of words and verses that yearn upward.
Truth to tell, we will settle for less, or even possibly more,
We don’t know for sure, our hearts will our hope restore.
Words lock us within our own desire, petitions, requests,
While the absence of words, of sound, alleviates our stress.
Silence opens the great plains to the impertinence of the wind;
Silence brings the blue of open sky down into the lake pinned.
We speak of “filling the silence” when silence is already full.
Like its counterpart rhythm and tone, silence is stately, grand,
Ready to absorb the cacophony of the world and withstand.
The tempo of well-timed silence has more eloquence than speech,
Drawn from the well of the human spirit, far beyond earth’s reach.

As you've clearly written here, there is meaning to Silence Unveiled. It hardly is but an oxymoron with no meaning. Sometimes, I verge on snapping when I read other reviews that border on ignorance, or just plain stupidity. Anyway, many thanks for reminding those of us who get it that silence has many solos and choruses of breathless epiphanies.
Silence is something we all need, but in our noise polluted world, it's getting harder and harder to find. Once on a tour of a cavern, the guide gathered the group together and then turned off the lights. Everyone stayed quiet, and I could actually hear the blood rushing through my ears. That experience was the ultimate silence for me.
as is said, a tremendous square looks round. . . a filling up silence screams itself. In the sense, I like the balloon image runs aground. Cheers, alex
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
David Hightower’s lyrically expansive meditation on the whims of fate and the unpredictability of the human condition fill the pages of THE HANGING MAN DREAMS with thrilling music and mesmerizing imagery. Hightower’s richly infused voice echoes the e
