The unknown future is soon to be known,
Wearing button boots, from heaven thrown.
A future that arrives to shake up the earth;
A future that arrives each day since our birth.
The future changes us only when it arrives,
Past the threshold, a new person survives.
In a horse-drawn carriage or fur-lined sleigh,
The future always knocks on the present day.
No short cut capable of advancing the clock;
We will simply need to reflect and take stock.
Our future waits in the background in silence,
Looking trim and proper in perfect compliance.
Patience stands as our gatekeeper at the door,
A life story of joy. sorrow and so much more.
Sitting there on the horizon as hope’s desire,
With a thousand wishes ablaze in kindling fire.
The relentless ebb and flow of the watery tides,
Drawn from a source we hardly know survives.
We look upon the future with grave suspicion,
Will an unknown future blossom into fruition.
Nobody in their right mind ever fully knows;
Our future a song only destiny can compose.
AND I AM SO GLAD ABOUT THAT, JOHN. REALLY, THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I WANTED TO 'KNOW' WHAT MY FUTURE HELD. NOW I'VE LEARNED THAT I FORFEITED MY ABILITY TO HAVE FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD WHEN I DID THAT. NOW I'VE LEARNED THAT ALL I HAVE TO DO IS LIVE, TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, EACH NEW DAY THAT GOD AWAKENS ME TO...FOR HIM. MY FUTURE IS ENTIRELY IN HIS HANDS. 'WHEW'...! THAT'S A LOAD OFF! Our future is often better than we think it will be. Commonly because we have to understand how people immediately try to correct any anomaly shaping their future away from what they know it should be.
But, I firmly believe that we shape our futures and, therefore, it is certainly part for us to actively involve ourselves preventing something bad happening that we saw all along and didn't respond to.
