I always take solitude with me wherever I go,
Its phantom presence with mercy to bestow.
Over the years, solitude is my closest friend,
Its endearing quiet stays with me to the end.
In a maddening crowd, solitude always there,
A kind of guardian angel my misery to spare.
Some think solitude the brother of loneliness,
I think of loneliness as the enemy of solitude.
The wild beast in me appreciates wild solitude,
The silence of Mother Nature offers plenitude.
In the quiet of solitude we know what we have;
In humming din, we know what we don’t have.
Never a stranger and never an uninvited guest;
Its lasting peace represents solitude at its best.
Even in the thick of life, I always return home,
To all the solitude I have ever in my life known.
Solitude never brings with it a sense of regret,
Wrapped lovingly in its arms, nothing to suspect.
All the turmoil of the world lost in solitude’s care;
In the folds of solitude’s drape, we do sorrow bare.
In my final days, I still have my solitude to savor;
In a solitary life, solitude bestows unique flavor.
Solitude teaches us of when, where, and why,
Its peace will open the sun door when we die.
'I THINK OF LONELINESS AS THE ENEMY OF SOLITUDE'... POWERFUL LINES, FOR THERE 'IS' A DIFFERENCE, INDEED. THANK YOU, JOHN, SOLITUDE IS MY SECOND...BEST FRIEND. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS KEEPER. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Solitude is a pill best swallowed when alone. It is appreciated when we are ready to open our arms to it. We must be willing to spend time with ourselves. Otherwise, loneliness rears its head. I believe there exists a fine line between the two.
yes, solitude or, better to say, solitariness is what is known as the self-nature, the term which is available for a few. If you're a poet, like me ;)) it works literary; otherwise, if you're a rowdy person it is a kind of torment for you. The whole point is that both of the sort have their self-nature: one is quiet, and another is noisy and constantly annoyed. However, the choice (of the way of life) is always there. Don't repress what you are! Due to your solitude, John, your poetry is highly admired, not only by me but by many. Cheers, alex
Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
