SWEET ESCAPE
By John Herlihy

No doubt, the mind might explore
All the emotions we hold in store.
While the face may often implore
To achieve that which we do adore.
To preserve sadness of days before
Shades of misery the eyes still wore.
The face never lies and cannot ignore
All the expressions that simply pour.
Pour forth as from some ancient lore,
Map lines traced deep to our very core
Reveals who we are and much more.
A blind man uses the face to explore
The true destiny of life the face wore.
Choices lies within every single pore,
Nothing is constant in life’s cold war.
Silence deepens as the seconds roar,
Winter without any snow such a bore,
The falling flakes lend so much more.
Sweet escape with the person I adore,
As we hurry toward that distant shore.
Transformations since the days of yore,
When Adam and Eve fell to Earth’s floor.

You got a nice rhyming rhythm going on here, winter without snow would be a bore indeed, then again, glad it's come to an end this season, excited about seeing flowers for a change, be well , keep writing .

I got caught up in the rhyming and didn't pay attention to the message. I guess I escaped it… I'm not sure how sweetly.
