On this side of paradise
We struggle and strive.
Perfection lies beyond us,
The effort keeps us alive.
We pursue our own destiny,
And we seek to discover,
The passageway to eternity,
We are obliged to uncover.
Perfection always will deceive,
A goal we may never achieve.
The pearl strives for perfection,
Its appeal lies in imperfection.
Perfection stands as the ideal,
To stamp on us a perfect seal.
WE CERTAINLY ARE KEPT BUSY ON THIS SIDE 'TRYING' TO REACH PERFECTION, BUT WE GET REWARDED FOR OUR EFFORTS...THE 'STRENGTH' TO KEEP TRYING! WELL DONE, JOHN AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Like beauty, perfection is in the eye of the beholder. I don't believe in a "perfect" out there somewhere, after. So I have to look at the now and the near future as I can perceive it. Practice does make perfect. But everything is relative. Wood carved to within 1/4 inch may be sufficient. Metal machined to 1/1000 of an inch may be sufficient. Plastic designed to fit may have to be molded to 1/5000 of an inch to be interchangeable. But art is art and perfection in artistry may change with the prevailing times. The realism of a Michelangelo statute may look like perfection. While the simplicity of a line drawing by Picasso or John Lennon may also look like perfection.
I prefer the dirty, messy, imperfect and sometimes failing, life we live over something impossible beyond. The important thing is to learn that we live in a very fragile and complex ecosystem that we must not destroy in our ill-conceived quest for perfection.
there is a great distance between 99 and 100 percent. However, the real perfection lies in combining of three things: design, managing, and implementation is a final outcome. Once all the three match smoothly, as you see fit achieved from the first shot, that is perfection to me. a nicely concise but in-depth piece. Cheers, alex
Striving to be perfect is a task which follows a crooked and deceitful road. Just getting by is good enough for most people, and rightly so. That road taken has its rewards. To know you have done your very best is reward enough.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
Always finding new ways to look at things.
Love ya!
