FAITH
By John Herlihy
Faith follows me in stride,
Worn as a cloak over my hide.
I will not reveal faith in what,
Faith’s secret lies deep in my gut.
Its sieve filters all my thought,
With the mystery of all I sought.
She (it’s a her) walks on tiptoes,
Where she comes from nobody knows.
An innocent little lie, like a ruffled shirt,
Lived in and well used, with nothing overt.
A pretended lie becomes a realized truth,
With all the simplicity to be found in youth.
Faith gives us nothing that we can scorn,
Instead its promise serves our life to adorn.
Thru the millennia, faith has come into play,
Inspiring humanity with visions come what may.
Love ya!
