Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

I forget yesterday, but remember tomorrow,

Tomorrow promises hope, yesterday sorrow.

When I forget tomorrow, I remember yesterday,

The future holds no promise if the past has its say.

Today needs no remembering, filling our eyes,

Its moment holds no guessing, no compromise.

- - - - -

Yesterday lies buried under the weight of snow,

Tomorrow lies underground as roots that grow.

Today lies between the eternity of dawn and dusk,

Time’s moments always convey a special trust.

Tomorrow holds its breath as it waits in the wings,

Yesterday leaves in its wake a song that sings.

- - - - -

One day may bring happiness, another day sorrow;

As we ride time’s arrow yesterday, today, tomorrow.

- - - - -

OOOOH...BUT THE WISDOM...JOHN, THE LESSONS...FROM YESTERDAY CANNOT EVER BE DISCARDED. LEST, WE MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AGAIN AS WE 'PRESS ON' THROUGH TODAY AND 'REACH' FOR TOMORROW. AND I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE FOR I'VE GOT AN 'ADDICTION' FROM YESTERDAY THAT I DON'T DARE FORGET ABOUT TODAY AS I LOOK TO TOMORROW...BUT, NOT ALONE! WELL DONE AND THANKS FOR THE SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

We have one of those plants. Unfortunately, it seems to have only one color, today. Someone probably forgot to turn on its time setting.

You seem to have struggled with this poem to make it match your idea. But it ends very well with those last two lines. I am a futurist who dreams of world we can shape with good vision. Shaping the future requires that we act properly today so that future will come about. If we do nothing, we have no control over the future. And, we can keep repeating the mistakes of the past. So we have to study the past very carefully to discern what the right direction and for the future. Making the same mistakes over and over in history is our fault for not learning as a world society.

For me at least, the 1st stanza left me confused, but the rest of the poem was great.

This one pretty much covers what you intended it to cover. And THAT is amazing.
