-- My Place on Earth -–

To find my place on earth,

I have roamed many roads far and wide.

To find my place on earth,

I have taken a journey deep inside.

To find my place on earth,

I have gone all the way to hell.

To find my place on earth,

I have explored many a dark well.

To find my place on earth,

I have ventured into cavernous caves.

To find my place on earth,

I have travelled across the ocean’s waves.

To find my place on earth,

I had to abandon my beloved home.

To find my place on earth,

I had to the end of the earth roam.

To find my place on earth,

I had to learn the meaning of solitude.

To find my place on earth,

I had to preserve my feelings of fortitude.

To find my place on earth,

I had to give up the sedentary life.

At journey’s end, I now feel rebirth,

In a place where I play on my poetic fife.

I have seen places,

That I never wanted to see again.

I have seen places,

That I wondered what might have been.

I have seen places,

That I thought I had seen before.

I have seen places,

That I could never have imagined more.

I have seen places,

Whose panoramic vistas inspire.

I have seen places,

That belong surely in the hellfire.

I have seen places,

That invited me to come back.

I have seen places,

That led me down the wrong track.

I have seen places,

That have the aura of magical mystery.

I have seen places,

That I never wanted to see.

I have seen places,

that have a feeling just like home.

I have seen places,

That made me want to endlessly roam.

I still see places that I imagine,

Places that I can never fully fathom.

One place I still wait patiently to see,

My place in Heaven, at peace, happy, free.
