-- Cloud of Our Own World --

By John Herlihy

We all live our lives in the cloud of our own world,

Lost in our little universe, as a lion or lamb hurled.

Sea flood of our worries, a cornucopia of our fears,

The cloud of our mind surrenders our rain of tears.

One day I wake up happy, another day I feel grim,

One day I hum a sad dirge, another I sing a hymn.

More often than not, my cloud drizzles heavy rain,

Moody days show my inner state, resembling pain.

All of us just live in a cloud of perpetual unknowing,

We think that we know it all, pride has us gloating.

There are billions of worlds on our one little planet,

Filled by all kinds of people, either saint or bandit.

Time to unpack all baggage, banish our cloud away,

To shine forth all our lights as a single, solitary ray.

Yes, your poem it clearly points out that most people are confined by an aura that is unseen but defined by their single small, in most places lives. The last two lines make a whole lot of sense.

"To shine forth all our lights as a single, solitary ray."
Wish we could do this every day of our lives, Halas, we got baggage.
Wishing you a day full of rays and hope. Wonderful penmanship, as always, enlightening and good. xo
