-- Another Way -–

John Herlihy

Why does the world have to be this way,

Only the way we know and not another way?

We are born as a bud ready for full bloom,

But then we die, never ready for our doom.

We begin to realize that we know nothing,

As we plod along the road of life’s journey.

When we are expected to know everything,

Even fathom the meaning of endless eternity.

Born into a family where we may not belong,

At odds with sisters and brothers as we go along.

The issue of fleeting happiness and lingering sorrow,

Neither feeling very satisfying and seem on borrow.

Expected to climb mountains, fulfillment to achieve,

But we only fall short in our willingness to deceive.

We learn nearly nothing from those ancient histories,

Still, we are confronted with all those sacred mysteries.

Is anyone out there interested in what I have to say,

If so, then here is my advice: let’s find another way.

NO ONE HAS ALL OF THE ANSWERS, WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES AND GOING THE WRONG WAY, CAN LEAD US TO SEEK ANOTHER WAY. ONE DAY I HAD TO MAKE A CHOICE; THE WIDE WAY OR THE NARROW WAY. SO, FOR ME, PRAISE GOD THE 'HUNT' HAS ENDED...I'VE FOUND ANOTHER WAY, ONE FILLED WITH TRUTH AND LIGHT. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

So true. In today's divided/divisive climate, it seems to be, "It's my way or the highway" mentality. And we have lost respect and civility along the way.
