Perhaps the closest I will come to forge a political statement out of my poetic soul.

-- At the Crossroads --

John Herlihy

Every day we stand at a crossroads to choose,

Between many things either to gain or to lose.

Will you be my enemy or will you be my friend?

Does today mark a beginning or signify an end?

Now we face the conundrum of genuine or fake,

Full of hot air in the souffle we attempt to make.

Lost amid the wranglings of truth and falsehood,

Today, we have lost the meaning of brotherhood.

Our motivations driven by selfish, not the selfless,

Content in a little world, our own heart to caress.

Then we have the vague question of good and evil,

Lost amid a multitude of trees in a forest primeval.

There in the distance another crossroads to choose;

Beware the choice lest we the people our souls lose.

INDEED, WHAT A GROSS ERROR WAS MADE. WE CAN ONLY PRAY THAT THOSE WHO WERE ONCE 'BLIND' BUT NOW 'SEE'...WILL MAKE THE CORRECT CHOICE AS THEY APPROACH THE CROSSROADS...OF DECIDING OUR COUNTRY'S FATE. ENJOYED, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

With some the next crossroads post only a possibility. With me, they are a promise to act decisively and with conviction.

If only everything was black and white, but all to often, things are in shades of gray. And why is it that lies spread faster than the truth, or why is it that we can be so easily deceived?

A house divided against itself will never stand. 'We the People' are chillingly divided in this country. And it's not just here. I strongly believe the Psalm 83, and Ezekiel 38 wars are imminent in the Middle East. Thanks for sharing John.
