-- THE TRUE INTENTION OF LIES -- John Herlihy Let it be known that my silence contains no lies; Whereas the true intention of lies is what I despise. In betraying the truth, the lie takes on truth’s aura; True lies become the norm with a magnetic aurora. Some people’s lies give injustice to what they speak; Their words have no worth; they pretend to be meek. Other people lie as easy way to gain another’s favor, Sugar-coated, all smiley and sunny, in its false flavor. What of those who end up being stingy with the truth; They have lost sight of its value; they think it uncouth. The art of communication hides behind a false front; A liar pretends to be sincere, even claims to be blunt. Let me say the truth and make this clear for all to see; What I claim I like or dislike drawn from just plain me. The true intentions of lies destroys any sense of trust; The truth lies within; we speak truth because we must. - - - - - - (c) John Herlihy 13 March 2019

INDEED, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ACCEPTABLE 'LITTLE' WHITE LIE. A LIE IS A LIE AND IS WRONG. BUT I'M WONDERING REALLY JOHN, IS ANYONE FREE FROM THE GUILT OF...FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER-AT SOME TIME IN THEIR LIVES...HUMMING A 'LIE' SONG? THANK GOD FOR HIS MERCY AND GRACE THAT FORGIVES AND COVERS ALL. THANKS FOR THE SHARE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+ INSPIRATIONS

I would subnit that all lies are not heartless and/or self serving. Some lies are born of compassion. How many of us exclaim over a "beautiful" baby that isn't? Or who reassure someone who is having a tough time that they are doing well? Sometimes the truth can be much more damaging than a lie told.

I've always believed that most lying has a spiritual component. It never stands the test of time. Never. But it seems our world is governed by lying and deception. Strange. Speaking honestly is a gift many do not possess. Enjoyed your thoughts. Peace... r

What an empowering descriptive and poetic "plea" to both we and the other target we both now who, you know that guy who only wants to investigate corruption... "...not interested in the politics." Certainly, BS, should be thought of in your insightful psychological analysis of lies. On a more common, everyday scale, your words are manna to those of us who stay alert and want more and more of our hard-wiring to be reminded to behave in a positive way. Bravo, my man. You are sending out positive vibes that need to be absorbed by the masses.

Lies are the one thing that get everything messed up because a liar has a hard time remembering those lies. The truth is so easy to remember, John. Lies are not.
