-- The End’s Beginning --
John Herlihy
The end of something is never truly the end,
It only seems that way.
We need to face the fact that the end comes,
At any time or place.
Childhood ends, school ends, the job ends,
Nothing goes on forever.
Some things end so that other things can begin,
It’s the way of the world.
The day ends in twilight as the night draws near,
Even the sun is put to rest.
The end of the road, end of the tunnel, end of the track,
The way never goes back.
Seasons have their beginning and they have their end,
Nature’s cycles never favor delay.
Sorrows, miseries, hardships all finally come to an end,
Their end marks a true beginning.
Where happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment all find their place,
The law of opposites prevails.
Fear not the end of something when it comes your way,
A new beginning always makes way.
