-- Light of a Thousand Faces --
John Herlihy
Light turns shadow into a thousand faces,
To bestow its mercy with a thousand graces.
Sparks of divine radiance in a sunlit meadow,
Shot with the autumn colors of the rainbow.
A silvery light seeps from the crescent moon,
Only to stream thru a window of my bedroom.
The electric sparks sparkle in the monsoon rain,
Golden fields of wheat touched by light on a plain.
The waters of a bay speckled with flecks of light,
Cast carelessly down by the sun from such height.
Fireflies as beacons of the night, trapped in jars,
The comforting peace of white snow under the stars.
The mystery of light sends forth a thousand faces,
Turning shadow into light with its amazing graces.
