-- Easter –
John Herlihy
Easter comes but once a year,
Crucifixion, death, then a tear.
The world waits for several days,
Burial following the ancient ways.
One man dies so souls may live,
Agony, suffering, his gift to give.
The oft-told tale never grows old,
This the greatest story ever told.
The message now special, unique,
Revisited each year in holy week.
A life journey, death, then reborn,
Every destiny from mystery torn.
Nature’s message is always clear
Death and resurrection ever near.
