I never wish to make you cry,

To me, your happiness matters.

In trust, we upon each other rely,

If not, our hearts will lay in tatters.

Those tears will give you strength,

Don’t hold them back, let them flow.

Of joy or sorrow, they both have length,

To convey a message we might not know.

Finally, when the tears are over and done,

Heart and soul feel as though washed clean.

Great oceans develop from droplets wrung,

The ocean shows what the droplets mean.

Your tears will flow as rivers into the soul,

The balm of wisdom from our sadness stole.
