-- Earth’s Wounded Heart --

John Herlihy

The day is no longer short.

The night is no longer silent.

The day does linger forever

The night ready to end never

In wonderment we were lost.

Our pleasures there for taking.

In hardship, we are now found.

New hope and courage making.

Earth’s heart now wounded.

Its beating pulse now subdued.

Heads of the multitude bowed.

Deep introspection now allowed.

Waiting for the day this will end,

When the uncertainty will upend.

WHY DOES IT SO OFTEN TAKE A 'WOUND'...BEFORE THE MASSES 'BOW THEIR HEADS'? THANKS FOR THIS TIMELY SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

Indeed, our planet is under siege in so many ways, it is sometimes overwhelming to keep up. Given the climate of virus overload, the populace has experienced in the past 6 months, the natural problems facing Nature have been rendered back seat attention. The introspection you allude to is so necessary, yet so neglected by the masses. Keep sending out your perspectives of the earth's maladies, for we can never be reminded enough.

I'm currently reading a book about an apocalypse where only the Native Americans survive. It is brought on by a force of nature that has become fed up with the way man has treated the earth and each other. Kind of like a Native American retelling of Noah and the Ark. It's a dark story with much to say. I'm one who believes that Mother Nature will, and probably is, fighting back. We would be wise to heed her.

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
