-- The Best of All Possible Worlds --

John Herlihy

We have now seen the best of all possible worlds,

Seen through the eyes of wise leaders and sages.

We have now seen the worst of all possible worlds,

Down through the history and culture of the ages.

The blind lead those with sight, who could imagine;

The seeing now follow the blind, who could fathom.

As if we really no longer know where we want to go;

As if we really no longer know what we need to know.

I for one have withdrawn into totally private places;

Now found innerly, where I don’t meet any false faces.

We have our own wisdom, with our own inner rhythms;

The world visions we see flow through our own prisms.

The worst of all possible worlds may lie there externally;

The best of all possible worlds still lie content internally.

I AGREE. IF WE BELIEVE, NOTHING CAN COMPARE WITH THE WORLD OF INEXPLICABLE PEACE THAT REIGNS WITHIN. BUT THEN, HE WHO SAW THESE TIMES PROMISED US THIS PEACE AND HE ALWAYS KEEPS HIS...PROMISES. THANKS FOR SHARING, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Especially insightful lines: "The blind lead those with sight, who could imagine; The seeing now follow the blind, who could fathom." Also, the external and internal comparison conjures up serious contemplation. I thoroughly appreciate this kind of thinking.

It's hard to trust anyone in today's world, isn't it? But if we can't trust ourselves, who else can we trust?

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
