We have done many things,

That we shouldn’t have done.

We left undone many things,

That we should have done.

We have said many things,

That we shouldn’t have said.

We left unsaid many things,

That we should have said.

We have promised many things,

That we shouldn’t have promised.

We left many things unpromised,

That we should have promised.

We have hoped for many things,

That we shouldn’t have hoped for.

We left many things unhoped for,

That we should have hoped for.

We have learned many things,

That we shouldn’t have learned.

We left many things unlearned,

That we should have learned.

We have forgotten many things,

That we should have remembered.

We left many things remembered,

That we should have forgotten.

So many things we should have done;

We left behind as never having done.

So many things we shouldn’t have done.

We left behind as having been done.

So many things that we shouldn’t do;

We left behind as never having done.

And so many things still left to do;

That we leave behind as having done.

Now my life tapestry is just about spun,

And none of the threads can be unspun.

When my life tapestry will finally be done,

Nothing I have done can be made undone.
