-- THE CERTAINTY OF UNCERTAINTY -- John Herlihy I love the uncertainties that go with uncertainty, Just as I hate the certainties that go with certainty. Something so inviting in exploring the unknown, Something off-putting being locked in the known. There is uncertainty in being able to do the job. There is certainty in being unable to do the job. Uncertainty brings challenge being put to the test. Certainty meager comfort thinking we be the best. Seems that we do strive all our lives for certainty, Whereas we simply learn to live with uncertainty. Certainty may even make the heart grow fonder, While uncertainty marches thru the hills yonder. We are uncertain as we are taking the next step. We may feel certain about taking the final step. The eyes provide certainty of the physical world. The mind offers uncertainty of the spiritual world. Uncertainty offers the means to unfold our power. Certainty thrives in the future of the coming hour. We ask for certainty but only get dust on the soul, While uncertainty feels absolute being less whole. Give me certainty and I will hold up to you the world. I love to feel the certainty of things that I am familiar too, though I believe I learn more through uncertainty then I do from certainty, well written John, Thank you

Stirring subject matter. A bit of a philosophical conundrum. I believe in intuitions and inspirations... I sometimes FEEL that I am right, but I do not KNOW that I am. There is only one thing in this life that I am absolutely assured of. Enjoyed this John. Peace... rlc

Your last two lines says it all. It's like having a dream for the best. You always strive to do better or for a better self. This is what people who are at the top of the world are lacking. People like Jeff Bezos, who has everything he needs: money, power, children, houses, cars... you name it.

He now feels so bored because he doesn't know what he can look forward to in life. Thus, he will be shooting himself up into space with the rocket from ground level. I think it is dangerous. But if he does succeed like Richard Branson, goes up to 45,000 ft. in space and comes back to earth safely, then it's another accomplishment. But then again... what else can he do next? What else can he look forward to doing and gaining? He already has everything. The poorest man in the world is one without a dream. When you exhaust all possibilities of strives and exploration, you don't have a dream. It's really sad.

A new look at the Uncertainty Principle. I wouldn't necessarily put uncertainty in only the spiritual world. The natural world seems full of uncertainty as well.

Why I love to hear the news! Just when I think I have the world figured out and everything is going the way I thought it would, the news tells me something entirely new that is really, the spice of life, the challenge of living. If it weren't for uncertainty we would certainly live a very boring existence.
