-- Seeing the Unseen --

John Herlihy

The mystery of the Unseen still haunts,

Beauty seen in human eyes still taunts.

Visions of the third eye to unveil the mystery,

Revelations of the inner eye, the eye of certainty.

Hidden within every leaf and every blade of grass,

In every flower petal that garden flowers amass.

The waves of the ocean rise to magisterial heights,

The wind bends the sacred oak tree within our sights.

Infants see sweet angels ride the wings of butterflies,

Children chase shadows to light the lanterns of fireflies.

So many mysteries in the world that keep us guessing,

So many questions in the world that need addressing.

The answers lie in unseen realms visible thru belief,

Certainties made manifest that offer humanity relief.

Beyond death’s door, the light of “this world”, extinguished,

Replaced by the light of the “next world”, distinguished.

The veil will be lifted from their eyes, their sight keen,

To see with the eye of certainty and know what things mean.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT; HOWEVER THINGS MAY 'APPEAR' TO US NOW...THEY ARE SHADOWED AND WE STILL 'SEE' THOUGH A VEIL DARKLY. BUT ONE DAY...WE WILL CLEARLY 'SEE' THE UNSEEN AND IT WILL LITERALLY ASTOUND US. HE PROMISED. GREAT WORK. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

This is full of grace. The word ‘magisterial’ was a powerful choice of language. Lots of sensitivity and wisdom in the inner eye being of certainty. I like that. ~~ djl

The poem is really deep. I have read it several times.
Each person preceives things differently, yet the beauty of such wonderous sights can touch each heart in a unique way. I believe that beyond deaths door, is eternal, beautiful, visonary light, that trancends all exspectations. Man kind definately need something tanagible to hang onto and believe in. The promise of salavation is great and everlasting. Your words are very descripitive. Mary Grace
