-- In the Presence of Spirit -- John Herlihy We are the drops In the sea of humanity. We are the flame In the blaze of the fire. We are the clay In the ground of the earth. We are the breath In the spirit of the wind. We are the star In the mystery of the firmament. We are the moon In the darkness of the night. We are the tides That forever ebb and flow. We are the trees That reaches for the heavens. We are the flower The smiles in the morning. With are the storm That frowns in the evening. We are the day In the brightness of light. We are the evening In the darkness of night. We are the body With caverns in the heart. We are the heart With passage into the soul. Yes, we have spirit that leads us every day. Through our spirit, we communicate using words in many languages with many nuances, including the unspoken body movements that give us away. But we are part of a larger world where many animals also possess the spirit to communicate with one another in many ways helping them navigate their worlds. Spirit begets survival.
