-- Winter Flower Bell --
John Herlihy
The tiny white snow bell,
With its sad, droopy head.
A flower with no voice to tell,
All the sorrow its heart bled.
In chill winter morning born,
As sweet memory of spring.
Peaceful winter snow to adorn,
Hope and resurrection to bring.
Rocking rhythmically to withstand,
The melodic rhythms of the wind.
Its petals extend their gentle hand,
Endurance on its heart pinned.
Seasonal beauty to mark the hour,
A lonely presence in winter’s bower.
