-- The Mystery of Truth --
John Herlihy
Mystery found everywhere,
In the voices of the wind.
Never our hearts to spare,
Making us feel chagrined.
In the heart of the flower,
Lies quietly its hidden wealth.
Never to reveal its power,
Its beauty arrives by stealth.
Mystery and truth interwoven,
In threads of shadow and light.
Thru mystery, truth is proven,
In the interplay of day and night.
Let the petals of mystery unfold,
Locked in their velvety embrace.
One by one they open and hold,
The sunshine in the flower’s face.
A butterfly at rest in the cocoon,
Waiting in patience to be born.
Breaks free of its confined room,
From the heart of mystery torn.
In beginnings be found the end,
Movement in ordained rhythm.
The light of dawn and dusk blend,
As light passes thru a divine prism.
In mystery, all truth be found,
In the sweet song of the bird.
In mystery, divine truths abound,
When listened to, they be heard.
In the rhythms of night and day,
A time for action, a time for rest.
In the whispers of a wind at play,
A time for sorrow, a time blessed.
Truth vulnerable and can be denied,
Wherever you turn be the divine face.
Mystery impenetrable, never decried,
Unfolding its petals releases divine grace.
