-- A Series of Compromises – John Herlihy My life more precious for being less certain, Far richer it ever is for being poorer. My life more interesting for being less knowable, Far more enriching for being mysterious. My life far more flexible for being ever changing, Far fuller in variety than being ever fixed. My life more certain for being less doubtful, Far more trusting than being ever unfaithful. My life far stronger than being less timid, Far more courageous than being ever cowardly. My life far happier than always being sorrowful, Far more blissful than being ever doleful. My life far more charitable than being hurtful, Far more generous than being ever stingy. My life more sensitive for being less vulnerable, Far more loving than being ever hateful. Life’s varied tapestry a series of compromises, Nurturing to grow, reaping what we sew. Some people think that true success is reaching our potential without compromising our values. It's difficult standing fast in a world that is always in a state of flux. I've been a Christian since I was five. I've discovered that the 4 main reasons Christians compromise their faith is: 1. Indulging their own desires, 2. Ignorance of God's Word, 3. Fear of being labeled, 4. A misguided attempt to be relevant in an ever-changing society. Compromising without changing our values is (IMO) a pipe dream. Thanks for sharing. rlc

Sometimes, we need to really examine our values and change them if they impede us on our journey. Based on your far ranging poetry, I would say that your values are sound.

There is a big difference between sewing the stitches of a compromise together and sowing the seeds of compromise among the dissident. ;-)
