-- The Sacred Calling --
John Herlihy
I hear a voice,
Even recognize the sound.
My heart beats rejoice,
Yet no one is around.
I hear the wind whisper,
The hush of night calling.
Autumn’s breath now crisper,
As scarlet leaves begin falling.
Lightning’s friend, thunder,
Torrential rains respond.
In awe, we stand in wonder,
As waters shiver in the pond.
The cry of the wounded heart,
With one death a world dies.
Now ready to take leave, depart,
As the light in twilight sighs.
So weary, I lay my head down,
Night’s darkness brings on sleep.
In blissful unconsciousness to drown,
The soul ready its Maker to meet.
I hear a sacred voice calling,
Its echo resounds as chime.
Letting go feels like free falling,
Every heartbeat feels as rhyme.
I only wish for what reigns true ,
To rightfully live the destiny mine.
Gather into one reality all I knew,
To enter the sun door of the Sublime
