The paradox of seeing lies in the mystery of the unseen.

We gaze upon the daffodils thinking we know what they mean.

What do our eyes do but see, we often taken them for granted.

We never realize how much still unseen, a flower never planted.

We look up into the dark plate of sky and see stars of the night;

Yet we take no notice of their mystery, just their twinkling light.

Sure, the moon, how romantic, its glow leaving on earth traces;

The celestial orb is ever changing, its phases fall on vacant faces.

We catch a glimpse of the sunrise, but wait impatiently for day.

In most cases, we never see the sunrise, whatever it may say.

The stunning sunset there before us, the vivid color, the hush.

We nod indulgently at the bloodied, scarlet sky, as on we rush.

For many years, I lived in the desert, in the heart of darkness,

Sleeping in the open air under those stars, such peacefulness.

An experience to make one realize, not what’s seen but unseen;

The utter darkness, absolute silence, and know what they mean.

There are those who see without seeing, those who see the unseen;

Not seeing with the eyes, yet seeing with no eyes, an inner light beam.

An inner awakening that lies beyond the horizon of the physical realm;

An invisible wind blowing forth the sails, with a third eye at the helm.

What about all those people who see things as though they were blind;

While some of the blind see things in the inner workings of their mind.

The art of true seeing lies in imagining the inner spirit not clearly there,

To unveil the physical world of all its trappings to reveal the inner prayer.
