-- Knowledge of the Unseen –

John Herlihy

What we can see we hold in high esteem,

We disregard a knowledge of the unseen.

The outer eyes serve us at their pleasure,

The inner eyes hold the keys of treasure.

In seeing, many behave as if they be blind,

True seeing lifts shadows from the mind.

Our eyes lead us forward to show the way,

Why, then, do we let our eyes ever say nay.

Knowing has us think some things are true ,

Believing opens new worlds we never knew.

The disbelieving denied access to the unseen,

Their body of knowledge is limited and lean.

Fleeting knowledge as emotions writ on the face,

Absolute knowledge stamped innerly never defaced.

Unseen rhythms sing sweetly of rarefied worlds,

Melodic, lyrical, magical with the luster of pearls.

Measure for measure, eyes and ears are assailed,

Behold as knowledge of the unseen is unveiled.

What I can see I believe in; I also believe in what I cannot see but my knowledge and experience in my life tells me that it's there - God's love protects me, it has always been there for me in my life.

just love this. be not moved by outside appearances. the outside senses has no capacity to perceive how God has His ways. thank you for the reminder.

Believing in what cannot be seen or touched is called faith. What can be seen is sometimes an illusion. I really liked this one.
