-- Beyond Knowledge --

John Herlihy

In the realm of knowledge,

We gather the facts we need.

Across its broad playing field,

The mind rides its sturdy stead.

Knowledge unknown on its first tier,

Laying patiently in wait for us to discover.

Knowledge known on the tip of a spear,

All the knowledge we did finally uncover.

Inside knowledge,

A place we often go.

Serving as a pledge,

Telling us what we need to know.

Beyond knowledge,

A place we rarely go.

Far beyond that precarious edge,

Uplifted on sacred winds that blow.

Knowledge found in darkness of night,

Promenades of stars in shimmering bands.

Beaming down upon us with ancient light,

Across the vast expanse of desert sands.

To a knowledge beyond perfection,

As if entering the heart of mystery.

A shedding of all of life’s deception,

As if entering the heart of certainty.

A rare journey into the unknown,

Thru sacred silence as abiding sound.

Drifting gently on wings of light sewn,

Below, our shadow falls upon the ground.

WHAT A WONDERFUL POETIC WORK...I ENJOYED ALL ASPECTS OF IT! AND YES, BEYOND KNOWLEDGE LIES...'INFINITE WISDOM'. THAT PLACE, THAT 'SHINING'... WHERE THE SHADOWS OF OUR 'KNOWLEDGE' ACQUIRED...SILENTLY FALLS TO THE GROUND AS IT BOWS TO THE MASTER'S REVEALING HAND OF...WISDOM! LOVE,BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

"Any fool can know. The point is to understand." Albert Einstein. "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end." Great thoughts John. Peace....

I believe it's quite hard to go beyond what someone already has experienced already. We are all standing on the shoulders of giants. Without knowledge or even beyond knowledge we are nothing, just lost in our emotions.

But an interesting thought that you have laid out nicely.

"A shedding of all of life’s deception, as if entering the heart of certainty." You've penned in this final stanza a factoid of life that few ever think about. As we've learned over the past few decades, what people believe is true (to them) and thus, what some perceive as knowledge is often misinformation designed by deceptive minds to deceive. (Unfortunately, as well, is that much of the so-called knowledge is emanating from the delusional super-natural realm of power seekers. Tragic, but true. Fact-checking is getting harder and harder.
