-- The Time In-between --

John Herlihy

The hour draws near

As quiet as cat paws

Midnight approached

A time of in-between

Neither day nor night

A moment when stars fall

When night at its darkest

Before moonlight rises

A deep breath drawn in

A pause between breaths

A calm stillness told

A silence made bold

A sigh breaks the spell

Nothing left still to tell

Night gives way to day

As earth makes its way

THEY SAY...THE DARKEST HOUR IS JUST BEFORE DAWN. YOUR IMAGERY DESCRIBING THE TIME BETWEEN EXTREME DARKNESS, GIVING WAY TO THE BEGINNING OF LIGHT IS JUST WONDERFUL! THANKS, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

And so the cycle continues ad infinitum. This is indeed a strange day of reading and writing, for you, along with two others, have written of subjects I too am writing about. Guess some vibrations are spreading their wings.

wow. that was a lovely depiction of the in between day and night transition. it's as if the clock momentarily stopped at midnight before it proceeded to approach daylight. thank you for this piece, John.

You have woven this tapestry of the time between very well. I'll leave it at that.

I find the time between the time when I'm falling asleep and when I awake is the most rewarding for my stories and even poems.

Ron
