-- The Poem Never Cries --
John Herlihy
The poem never cries,
Only whispers and sighs.
There on horizon’s edge,
Joy and sorrow’s wedge.
Lost in a well of despair,
Found in the core of prayer.
Tears run down skin deep,
The poet’s heart will weep.
Words as embers of fire,
The eye of beauty to inspire.
By mystical breath touched,
So open hearts be brushed.
The poem never really cries,
On pure emotion it relies.
