The past we already lived in,

Ample time has now gone by.

Valued moments lost in a bin,

Memories we hear as a sigh.

The future as enticing promise,

Beckoning us with bony finger.

Hope-filled to serve as solace,

Wistful thoughts always linger.

Better today than tomorrow,

The existing hour unfolds real.

The future as time on borrow,

Idle moments there to steal.

Time lost with the day gone;

Listen now to its lilting song.
