-- Born of a Single Act -- By John Herlihy From nothing the universe is torn, From consciousness our story is born. From the beauty of a cracked shell, Mystery and miracle no one may foretell. Courage is born of a single act, Trust is born of a single pact. An abyss born of a single implosion, A universe born of a single explosion. A fire is born of a single spark, Humanity is reborn in Noah’s arc. Hope is born of a single desire, Falsehood is born of a single liar. Misery born of a single act of despair, Worship is born in a single prayer. Life is born in a single cell, Mystery born that will never tell. Life is born of a single breath, Slumber is born in the little death. Very beautiful lines in here, John. I find this to be gentle and warm, and full of gratitude and the sum of �one� part and its tandem �other� part. It made for a curious trail, down which I find myself looking forward to the next couplet. My favorite are: �Hope is born of a single desire,� and �Slumber is born in the little death..� and �We all are born of a single soul,/Whose singular spirit makes us whole.�. That last one, the couplet to finish this piece, contains the expanse of Life itself; and a healing two lines they are. Thank you ~~ djl

And all add up to the singularity, a density of infinite detail. Interesting to consider what so many of us take for granted as having such a simple, yet complex in another sense. Good food for thought.
