When we think of the virtues.

We seldom think of restraint.

The patient waiting, the acceptance,

No need to offer further complaint.

We set ourselves the task,

take pleasure in the doing.

In the accomplishment we bask,

No need to think of undoing.

And so life goes on,

with little desire to hesitate.

Never allow oneself to feel put upon,

Only our actions to perpetuate.

Therein lies the virtue,

The nobility stands on its own.

A time comes to hold oneself in reserve,

Our patience, integrity, and will to preserve.
