Everything Feels Just Right
by John Herlihy
In nature, nothing is wrong,
Everything feels just right.
Blue the right color of the sky,
White the right color for clouds.
What else but the black of night,
What then the color of moonlight.
Do the stars have distinctive color,
On their journey thru space and time.
Only to land in my eye as specks bright,
Bringing with them the mystery of night.
The bay sparkles emerald green,
The darkened storm clouds look mean.
Dawn light riding the crest of a wavelet,
Twilight blazing various shades of scarlet.
The eyes of my love a rich earthly brown,
A red rose as cameo in a bed of snow.
Forget not the yellow of creamy butter,
Or the burnished skin of the juicy orange.
Ah, the vibrant colors, each one different,
Unique and irresistible, each one a poem.
Rain, not sure about the smell or color,
Whatever it is, be sure everything is right.

There are very few "blue marbles" out there with a variety of ecosystems, colors and wildlife that we have on our little old Earth.
