Loving and Forgetting

Love God and do what thou wilt,

Forget God and live life as in silt.

Love God and be led by His hand,

Forget God and feel His reprimand.

Love God and receive His blessing,

Forget God, find yourself guessing.

Loving God as act of remembering,

Forgetting God as act of forgetting.

Loving God brings the air of ecstasy,

Forgetting God lends an air of misery.

Loving God, to feel his abiding trust,

Forgetting God feels like breadcrust.

A hallmark of our humanity is loving,

A hallmark of our humanity forgetting.

Even though we may often forget Him,

Know that God has not forgotten you.

Be in love with God to know the reality

Forget God to remain lost in mystery.
