From Shadows to Light

We are much acquainted with darkness,

A darkness follows us wherever we go.

But amid all the darkness I have a light,

Some little light that follows me I know.

Follows me even if I do not want it so,

From whence its origin, I do not know.

Enough to know that it is there with me,

Shimmering a brightness to meet the day.

Here is my light given you for the asking,

Thank you for letting me lend it to yours.

Light upon light can only mean more light,

Together we shall shrink all the darkness.

Until a time when there will be only light,

In our darkest moments, light as true life.
