I went to see that man today,
The one others can’t abide,
Sitting me down in a big comfy chair
He asked me to “Open Wide.”
While I sat listening to Radio Two,
He was poking around inside.
He uttered and muttered whistled and haaaad,
Until he was quiet tongue-tied.
Then shaking his head in a dismal way
He wrote in a book by his side.
“Your teeth are quite healthy.” he said to me,
“So there’s nothing to pay.” and he cried.
While I walk away from the dentist,
With a smile that filled me with pride.
