Now that my spider bite blues

Have finally been removed

It’s time to head down the road

And make our long delayed move

Time to hitch up all our dogs

And bundle up all of our cats

Time to move heavy furniture

And trash my now aching back

We’re heading down the road to a bigger house

Which already has my wife in a paranoid dread

There’ll be a lot more room for a lot more critters

“You bring along a skunk, Mister, and you’re Dead!”

And after this exhausting endeavor occurs

I’m heading off to Florida to visit my mother

I can already hear her giving me lots of hell

For teasing my big old Momma’s Boy brother

But who knows what exotic critters I may find

On that long winding road heading out of town

Maybe a kitten or an old turtle in need of a ride

Or another starving abandoned and forlorn hound
