“On the road again,

Goin' places that I've never been,

Seein' things that I may never see again,

And I can't wait to get on the road again.”

Willie Nelson,

On the Road Again

This sad old world of ours

Has really gotten me down

So I’ve packed a few bags

(And my extremely loyal dogs)

And we’re headin out of town

Someone’s gotta watch the cats

So we’re leavin the wife behind

But since we’ll be a roughin it

She really, really, doesn’t mind

Don’t know where we’re headin

But it’s gotta be somewhere wild

I long to smell the big pine forest

And let nature bring back my smile

I long to get away from the big cities

To a very sublime, quiet little paradise

Somewhere that’s peaceful and natural

Somewhere that’s a soothin to my eyes

So we’re now headin for the wild places

Down that long, long, stretch of highway

When we find a huge stand of tall pine trees

We’ll soon be ramblin down some dirt byway

Got no cares and responsibilities

At least for a few glorious days

With my trusty canine sidekicks

We won’t be makin any waves

We’ll just relax down yonder a stretch

At some isolated little wilderness pond

Communin with good old Mother Nature

With whom the five of us are mighty fond

We’ll probably be back in several days or so

But if we get stuck in some deep new mud holes

We just might linger down yonder a tad bit longer

And that just might brighten our world weary souls

“On the road again,

Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway;

We're the best of friends,

Insisting that the world be turnin' our way,

And our way,

Is on the road again.”

- See Ya’ll On the Flip Flop -

I see you out there, Edward. Good for you and your canine buddies.I grew up around an old saying here that appears to fit your situation if the powers that be at AD will forgive me for repeating it in public. It is, "If your neighbor can see you peeing off your back porch, he's too damn close."...Jerry

Sounds great to me Ed, just what I need to do. I keep telling my wife after I retire we'll be living in a mobile home on wheels, bring on the riding thrills. Enjoyed the entertaining verse, it certainly took me there. I too love mother nature and the wide open spaces, have a good one and stay up in spirit, or enjoy climbing back to the top

ED... ENJOY!

Back in 2000, wifie dear decided to go off for a week with her best lady friend, leavin' me high n' dry. I drove an 86 gmc starcraft custom back then, so me n' Heather my dog tooled way out to DEEP CREEK LAKE in Western Maryland for the weekend. Cruised around, took in the sights, bedded down real comfy in the van that first night. AAAAAH!

Next AM, when I found a BIG FAT TICK CLIMBIN' UP MY BACK.... YUCK!

SO MUCH FOR NATURE! ATE BREAKFAST, THEN SCOOTED BACK HOME REAL FAST!

SO MUCH FER CAMPIN' - ME N' HIM DON'T MIX MUCH NO MORE!

Enjoy yourself Ed
I wish I was able to pack a few items and disappear somewhere
But the fact of the matter is that I get lost just going around
the corner, plus my wife won't allow me to cross the street.
May you travel with God and in peace

Love it, as a Willie fan and a wilderness fan, this one has a special place in my heart. I am one of those too who every now and then has to break free of city bars and find my way to the woods or out on the sea don't matter which as long as it is not in sight of city lights.
