I was heading down the highway
I kept seeing signs for a waterfall
How could I not stop and admire it
It was surely God’s work, after all
And soon, I was deep inside the mountain
Gazing up at a wonder, 200 million years old
A spectacular waterfall, deep inside a huge cave
What a stroke of genius, so magnificent and bold
Even its name is quite intriguing – Ruby Falls
Named by a cave explorer, for his lovely wife
I can imagine how she felt when he showed her
What an everlasting tribute, to the love of his life
As I gazed in delight, at this waterfall, deep underground
I couldn’t help but think of all of Earth’s many natural wonders
There are so many magnificent creations, all around the globe
Yet, many never appreciate His work, which we rape and plunder
I was heading down the highway,
I kept seeing signs for a waterfall;
How could I not stop and admire it,
It was surely God’s work, after all.
And I’m very glad I took the time,
To visit this wondrous old waterfall;
I can now add it to my never ending list,
Of places visited in, The Wonder of It All.
