“And they called it puppy love,

Oh I guess they’ll never know,

How a young heart really feels,

And why I love her so.”

Paul Anka,

Puppy Love

Three very precious little pups

Now, they are six weeks old

Such joy, they have brought us

We will hate to soon see them go

The newborn offspring of a throw-a-way

I found their mother, discarded in an alley

And, such a wonderful mother she has been

So very diligently nursing and caring for all three

Today, at six weeks old, they are all a joy to watch

As they all so joyously romp, and play, and explore

They have discovered a whole new world awaits them

They squeal with delight, as they rush out our backdoor

All of our other canines have already become aunts and uncles

They already seem to love them, as much as my spouse and I do

I know when the day arrives, that these three adorable pups leave

Everyone around our animal loving home, will be feeling the blues

My spouse has found them homes,

Knowing I’d want to keep, all three;

Since I helped their mother give birth,

These three will always be special, to me.

And they called it Puppy Love,

Oh, I guess they’ll never know,

How all of our hearts now feel,

And why we love these three so.
