Before the darkness falls
I wander aimlessly
Down the minds
Bent and twisted halls.
Searching for relief from the
Long nights of shallow cries.
Tormented by echo’s of
whispering pines, and
assailed to harms end by
the black silhouette of an eagle
before it dies.
Oh curse this vivid dreaming,
that leaves me on the morning wind,
shaking, sobbing, and screaming.
Take back from me this ghastly thing,
that steals into my sleep and pilfers my peace.
Loosen now the images from my mind
and render to me the sublime.
Remove from me
The shallow cries,
the whispering pines,
the black silhouette of the eagle
Before it dies
harness in this dream that binds
and
lays waste
To the fallen darkness of my mind.
