I met a little dog
on the bottom of my shoe,
hello little doggy
how do you do - your do?
I'm sure you can explain
this color, by your diet,
was it also on the can
when your owner went to buy it?
Why is your waste so squishy
when I track the home inside?
what was in your dishy
and was it well, before it died?
All these little calling cards
scattered all around,
has no one ever told you
not to leave it on the ground?
If only your poor owner
had the brain power of a flea,
they wouldn't let you leave these messes
lying around for me.....

Forgive me, but I have to tell you that when my little Pomeranian, Jazz, was dropped on me by a student, he came with a bag of geriatric dog food. Being a firm believer that starvation leads to good health, I continued to feed him that same dog food for the rest of his life. I never gave him treats except his daily milk bone for his teeth. Jazz remained skinny, but extremely healthy and active until he was killed by a big dog that he would've fought if he had the chance. Anyway, he left small dry poopies on the yard. I walked barefoot there all the time and don't recall ever stepping in one. When I mowed the grass and chopped them up it made wonderful fertilizer for the grass.
