numbers of footsteps
permeating ambiguity
and uncertainty exploding identity
where evil exists
constantly seeking
often finding their
victims among the
shadows
just like an old time
movie
to Noir an ending
...cynical character at a bleak setting
and your poem's lines...suggestive of danger

Exciting thoughts and expressions within the confines of this "Noir" poem, Vivian. Although his back is to us, but the man under the streetlight undoubtedly has a cigarette in one hand and his other hand in his trench coat is wrapped around a snub-nosed .38. Noir, indeed.
