A word about all our good intentions

Poem Artwork

The lay season has been put to rest

and now my good intentions are finally

put to the test

It would be nice if promises of new

could be wrapped with desires of

the old

alongside red bows of will power

toppled with crimpled wrappings of

success

The tinsel has been put in store

presents opened wide, no more

wanting only

the health that has been hoped for

I now must do my bid to work at it

if I want ,

the jubilant joy of tomorrow smiles

to grace my front door

yes, the lay season has been put to rest

and the January winds are moving West.

WONDERFUL, LIGHTHEARTED WORK OF EXPECTATION AND HOPE FOR THE NEW YEAR. MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BE WASHED IN THE JUBILANT JOY THAT STREAMS FROM ABOVE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

A wonderful rendering of your view of January. If only everyone could view this rather cold, dark month with such optimism.

Moving west eh? It's good to look forward to our tomorrow's with open arms and eager eyes. It's wonderful when joy and motivation fills us with clarity and purpose. What's most difficult, however, is keeping that initial feeling burning. Enjoyed your thoughts. rlc

This was a cool write. I loved the seasonal imagery within.

It's interesting how each of the seasons brings their own challenges. Certainly winter is a special breed, but those new year resolutions always springs hope eternal. Good luck in your endeavors, may they flourish and succeed.

Love this very well-written poem, dear Poet! I am afraid that resolutions will lie scattered on the floor like celebratory confetti.
