A poem I wrote for my mother in law who passed away with covid.
She left this world in a hurry even though she lived it slow
leaving behind a legacy of kids, and a scented afterglow
Love was all she knew and she showed it with iconic smile
what I wouldn't give to hug her one more time,... I know
leaving this world in a hurry she entered heaven nice and slow
I saw the bouquet of violets that they left for her and cried
for the scent of her clung to my pillow only once she died
Life was a series of moments some tested some tried
what I wouldn't give to today to have her by my side
I know, I saw the bouquet of violets only when she died
Mother was like a precious poem written with a gentle quill
she was like flowers blooming on our window sill
Love was all she gave us until she became old
oh what I wouldn't give to love her and behold
She left this world I know, ...
but she loved us, more then gold !
HOW WONDERFUL, MYSTIC, WHAT A TRIBUTE TO YOUR MOTHER. I DIDN'T KNOW HER, OF COURSE, BUT YOUR WORDS TOUCH ME AND I KNOW, HER MEMORY REMAINS...RICHER THAN GOLD...NICE AND SLOW. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
"leaving behind a legacy of kids, and a scented afterglow"... What a beautiful line that is. So sorry to hear this Vienna. It's such a blessing to be able to write about the difficult things. At least for me it is. There are times when the process can become a healing cathartic. Remember: all that we deeply love, becomes a part of us. Thanks for sharing such personal thoughts. Blessings and peace... rlc
