Caliginous skies stall
Maples bend at the waist
Laden with heaven’s bounty
Aching, yet
Determined to touch the sun
Storm’s aftermath
Strewn helter-skelter
In the most tenebrous, obscure hour
Beseeching the skies
I perceive the slightest glint
Seeping though the storm’s clouds
Creation’s illumination
An encouraging, inspiring calm
Pervades my being
Eagerly, I sunbathe
Basking in its warmth
Nourishing my soul
